Joichiro came to the AppleSox this summer off a tremendous sophomore year at Merced. He won the Central Valley Conference Player of the Year award with a .409 batting average after leading the conference. He posted 25 multi-hit games for the Blue Devils and recorded 29 extra-base hits in 42 games. This fall, Oyama will be attending UC Irvine.
